Have you ever noticed how many journal entries are about things that make us upset or just piss us off? I spent some time recently actually IN the library (I know it's hard to believe), and read some journals written during various periods spanning from the 1980s back to the 1600s. What struck me as interesting was how many of the entries were about the good things we seem to take for granted.
For example, one entry by a lady named Eliza McPherson states "I am so struck by the absolute charm of the world right outside my window that I seek to describe it as best as possible so that, in my old age, I might read again this entry and remember. The sun is so warm in its golden glow and bright radiance that it's as if I get the honor of peering onto the roadways of Heaven. The roses are so fragrant that their scent does capture my attention, far better than any from a perfumery. The deep reds, bright pinks, and shining yellows of the roses are like seeing a mosaic for the first time." She continues on for several pages, but you get the idea.
Why are we so caught up in the negative that we forget the positive beauty that's around us?
Tell you what, go to any place where there are a lot of people and drop a rose on the sidewalk. See how many people will trample it without a second thought. Then drop some money on the sidewalk and see if it gets the same treatment.
We're bombarded and conditioned for the negative in life. It's up to us to seek out the positive. If we don't, who will?
Didn't blow anything up and didn't fall off anything; so still safe. Have some wonderful friends, so still blessed.

Just beyond the fringe of sight
I wish I may, I wish I might
See with vision, not with sight.
*sigh* But knowing there is caring makes the soul burn ever brighter.
Thank you so much.
